What are Momiji dolls?
Momiji dolls are a form of creative Japanese kokeshi doll. They are hand-made and painted and bring friendship and joy into your life. Due to being individually made, no two are exactly the same. However they all share similar traits. Momiji dolls, being Kokeshi, have no arms or legs and are made from wood. Momiji dolls however are a bit different from all other Kokeshi.
How are Momiji dolls different from Kokeshi dolls?
When you buy Momiji dolls you will find the base of the doll has a hidey hole in it. Inside this you will find a small card. This small card tells about the doll's likes and has her name and something she likes to say too. The sayings are all topics based upon good will, love and friendship in some way. Momiji dolls are born into collections. The collections called The Randoms were the first ones made and came in a set of twelve. The original Randoms have been discontinued but they are (at the time of this writing) into the Sixth generation.
