I want to raise my dining table a few inches, what can be used under the legs and still look good?
Whatever is used can be painted to match.
Good answer from lar. I would add that rather than try to glue or screw the leg extensions on, buy some double ended screws. They look like regular wood screws, but have points and threads on both ends. You then drill a hole in the top of each leg extension and in to the bottom of the existing leg, and just screw them in. You have to pre-drill holes to prevent splitting, and use some soap [bar or liquid] on the threads to make it easier to screw them in. This will make strong, reliable legs, and its inexpensive. Get them at any hardware or home store.
