Pictures always help in trying to sell dolls or a really good description of how many you have and what makers and any damage you are aware of. If they are true antique dolls (made before 1920) boxes are rare. When you have a large number to sell ,sometimes your best bet is an antique doll dealer who is willing to buy the great along with the mediocre. They will generally give you about 50% of book value so that they can make a few dollars too. They do know what sells currently and what doesn't. A reputable dealer will be honest with you. (See NADAA link below). Antique Doll is the international publication for studying/selling truly antique dolls and will have a number of ads of people who would be willing to buy a collection. For somewhat newer dolls, try Doll Reader. They have new and modern (after 1940 dolls). Where you live in California, there are many dealers in your area. Try the yellow pages, too. Also, depending on the size of the collection you can try an auctioneer who specializes in dolls, they too advertise in the Doll publications. Also, Ebay is good if you don't know what the doll is worth, the buyers generally let you know quickly. Good luck
